Busy Bees

What is the Busy Bee Group?

  • We are a Nurture Group, which helps the children to develop their social and emotional skills.
  • We further develop social, emotional, behavioural and attachment skills.
  • This in turn supports their academic development.

When does the Busy Bee Group meet?

  • We meet for breakfast at 8:30 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, and then we go to our class for registration.
  • We then attend group after lunch on Monday, Wednesday and Friday all afternoon.  Then we return to class before the end of school.

What do we learn about?

  • We have the opportunity to develop a 1 to 1 relationship with staff and other children.
  • This helps us with trust, sharing, turn taking and emotional development.
  • We take part in a variety of fun activities, listening games, puzzles, role play and story time.
  • This will complement our academic learning.

What happens in group sessions?

  • We have breakfast with the staff and our group together at 8:30am then we go to registration.
  • This is an important time as we are encouraged to hold a conversation around the table about many topics and get ready for our learning.
  • After lunch, we will do a structured task and lots of fun activities.
  • There will be some sessions which we invite parents to join us too.
