Welcome to Reception at Rosehill Infant School
We hope you've all had a fantastic break and we are all excited to begin the new year feeling refreshed and energised to do some super learning!
We would like to welcome Mrs Rouse who will be joining us in Reception for the rest of year. Our reception team for the rest of the year consists of Miss Asia, Mrs Rouse, Mrs Tennant and Miss Mangham.
The topic for this half term is 'Rhyme time'. Learning will be based around traditional nursery rhymes such as Row, row, row your boat, Humpty Dumpty, Hickory Dickory Dock and number rhymes. We have lots of fun activities and investigations planned so let the fun learning begin!
We've been good boys and girls...
Superhero Week
Our superheroes week has been amazing and all the children have absolutely loved giving themselves a new superhero name, followed by designing and making their own cape. To end the week, the children transformed themselves into superheroes and spent the day solving superhero missions linked to reading, addition, number recognition and investigating magnetic materials!
We had a fantastic week!
14.11.14
We have had a fantastic alien party in reception as aliens invaded our reception class! Children made alien food, and their own alien placemats. They even gave themselves an alien name!
We would like say a big thank you to Mominah's mummy who went all out to dress Mominah as a fantastic alien.
Reading meeting 24.10.14
Thank you to all the parents who attended our Reception reading meeting. Parents had the opportunity to find out about different stages of reading, development and resources used for early writing and how to support children in phonics, where they had a go at spelling simple words and playing simple word building games.
The meeting was a brilliant success and the parents thoroughly seemed to enjoy the session, finding it very useful.
In response to all the positive comments, we will be having a workshop type Maths meeting on Friday November 14th. We hope you will be able to join us in supporting your child's learning further.
