St James' Infants Curriculum Approach

St James'Junior School

There are many opportunities for the children to be creative.   Afternoon lessons include Art, Design and Technology and Music often with cross curricular links to other subjects such as History and R.E. 

 

Please take a chance to look at the extra-curricular projects happening in the school too.

Extra-Curricular Clubs and Projects

Y4 and Y5 Choir: In December 2014 the Y4 and Y5 choir attended the Intu Choir Competition in Derby.

Art Club - Timeline Pictures

Year 5 & 6 Dance Club

Run by: Mrs Lloyla

Where: 4L's classroom

When: Starting on 16 February

Day & Time: Thursday 12.30- 1.00pm

Cost: Free

Celebration Event: Thursday, 12 March at the Riverside Centre

Year 3 & 4 Traditional Folk Arts Project (includes maypole dancing, broom dancing and a folk play based on St. George and the dragon).

Run by: Folk 3D (Speak to Mrs Lloyla)

Where: School Upper Hall

When: Starting on 16 February for 7 weeks excluding Easter holidays

Day & Time: Monday 3:30 - 4:30

Cost: Free

Celebration Event: Saturday, April 18 at Derby Market Place

 

Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 Art and Crafts Club

Run by: Ozzy Road Church (Speak to Mrs Lloyla)

Where: 6BT's classroom

Day & Time: Wednesday 3:30 - 4:30

Cost: Free

 

Creative Arts Project (Gifted and Talented)

March 2015 - Twelve children will be taking part in designing a fly tipping poster and will be entered into a competition.  We will keep you informed of the results.
